How to use this page[edit]
Making a request[edit]
Before asking volunteers to look for your source, try finding it yourself with the tools at your disposal.
In particular, eligible editors can use the Wikipedia Library, which gives access to content provided by numerous academic publishers.
- Though we would prefer you to ask for a specific journal, article or work, we will accept open-ended questions. You can ask for all kinds of sources here, either on this page or by writing directly to an active user.
- Provide as much detail as possible: a full citation with author, title, publisher, date and identifiers like DOI, ISBN, ISSN, PMID, OCLC, etc. Indicate which article you need this for.
- Due to copyright restrictions, we cannot send you full book/thesis copies. Narrow down your request to a specific chapter or page(s).
- Add the {{Resolved}} template when your request is completed.
- Filled requests are archived. Requests unfilled after three months will also be archived.
Fulfilling a request[edit]
- Anyone may offer advice and fulfill requests, in full or in part. When fulfilling a part of a request, tell others which one so that they don't have to do the same work.
- Notify (mention) the requester using
{{u|REQUESTER_USERNAME}}
. - You can:
- post a URL address ( https://... ) if the material is available online and the webpage does not infringe others' copyrights
- share scans of pages or documents using a file-sharing service if legal
- upload out of copyright works to Wikimedia Commons and/or Wikisource (make sure your institution's policies allow this). Check Wikimedia Commons's guide for copyright in each jurisdiction if in doubt.
- email a link or plain text to a requester using the Special:EmailUser ("wikimail") feature. Attachments are not supported, so you need the user's email address to send them. You can configure your wikimail in Special:Preferences.

New requests[edit]
October 2023[edit]
[edit]
These are a series of scientific articles I am unable to access online. I have checked the Wikipedia Library as well as Google Scholar. Most of these are unlikely to be in English. Two of them (the ones by Bakr) I suspect are rare outside of Pakistan.

- @SilverTiger12, Are you sure about the publication information you cite for number 6? I'm looking at what I think is volume one issue 4 and just can't find that article. Also the link you provide is to a november issue, issue 4 is from April. Eddie891 Talk Work 19:53, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, no, I'm not certain about the publication information; I tracked it down as a potential source second or third-hand a while ago. Doing a search again, I can't track down where the issue 4 part came from, just that it is in volume 1. My apologies. SilverTiger12 (talk) 21:15, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, I will look through volume 1. Unfortunately it has no real page numbers. But I will do my best, and ping you when I track it down. Eddie891 Talk Work 22:55, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- @SilverTiger12 and @Doc Taxon, I've got no. 4. Doc, will send it to you. ST, can you email me and I will respond with a pdf Eddie891 Talk Work 14:41, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

- @SilverTiger12: Please clarify what portions of this request are complete and what portions are still outstanding. The tradition method is to
strikethe list items that you no longer need. Next week I'll be at a library that has 3, 4, and 6, but am reluctant to spend my limited time there scanning hundreds of pages if you may not still need them. --Worldbruce (talk) 19:34, 28 October 2023 (UTC)- @Worldbruce: I have done so. Only 3, 5, and 6 are still needed. Unfortunately I don't think I can narrow down the needed page ranges in 3 and 6. Although for 3 the most needed part is the section on felids (cats), Miomachairodus in specific, if you only have limited time. And for 6, close to the same: section on felids, Epimachairodus zwierzykii in specific. Happy editing, SilverTiger12 (talk) 19:43, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

- You can preview different little bits of it by searching through the book for "Panthera" and "pathanensis".
- Let me know you think if it would be useful for me to request an interlibrary loan (which can be physical or digital) for chapter 105 of "Proceedings of Fourth Pakistan Congress of Zoology" through my university. The second WorldCat link says that University of Minnesota, Twin Cities has a copy, and both it and my university are in the Big Ten Academic Alliance, so it should be more likely to be accepted and should be processed faster, compared to it being at some unaffiliated institution.

- A lead! Thank you! I've had a hard enough time finding this source to say yes, please request the interlibrary loan. I think that might actually be what I'm looking for. Happy editing, SilverTiger12 (talk) 18:45, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

105. On a Collection of Siwalik Carnivora
Abu Bakr
Department of Zoology, University of the Punjab, Lahore
In the Department of Zoology, Punjab University, the total number of the speciments of fossil Carnivora is eighteen. More collection was made last year. The total number of species that discovered is sixteen. Of these four i.e. Vishnucyon nagriensis, Sivaonyx minor, Lycaena felina and Panthera dhokpathanensis are new. The other speciments also given additional information about the known species. The work has been carried out under Pakistan Foundation, Project No. P-PU/Bio (102).
— p. 51
- This is page 51, and https://search.worldcat.org/title/62447645 says the book is 51 pages in total, so this is presumably the last page, so that's it.

- Hm, so I'm still looking for the monograph itself. Thank you though. SilverTiger12 (talk) 21:57, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Oh right, hmm... Should I try requesting an inter-library loan and see if my university's librarians can figure something out, perhaps borrowing it or getting a scan from the National Library of Pakistan? Solomon Ucko (talk) 01:08, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- It's a long shot, but I'd appreciate it. SilverTiger12 (talk) 01:37, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

To editor SilverTiger12: Issues of De Ingenieur in Nederlandsch Indie are readable here. I didn't find that article, though I didn't look very hard. Maybe that collection is incomplete or maybe the volume or issue is wrong. Alas there is no search engine. Zerotalk 02:18, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

1906 article in Arts and Crafts[edit]
- Maryon, Herbert (March 1906). "Metal Work". Arts and Crafts.
For Herbert Maryon
According to the below article, The March number of "Arts and Crafts" is, as usual, full of articles which are intended to provide students and art workers with useful information on a variety of subjects in which they are interested. The most important of these articles are "Various Methods of Finishing Oak," by Mr. W. Daniell; "Metal Work," by Mr. H. J. Maryon; "Practical Talks about Wood-Carving," by Mr. H. Turner; "Inlaying," by Mr. A[rthur] C[awdron] Horth; and "Bookbinding," by Mr. F. Sangorski and Mr. G. Sutcliffe. Among the more notable illustrations are reproductions of drawings by Henner, E. Detaille, and Feyen Perrin.
- "The March number of "Arts and Crafts"". Art and Artists. The Globe. No. 34, 559. London. 14 March 1906. p. 4.
The starting point is to figure out what journal this is—a task not helped by its generic name. There's a good chance that this is a small journal that didn't last long. The article would be Maryon's second published work that I'm aware of, five months after "Early Irish Metal Work", in another small journal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Usernameunique (talk) 01:42, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- Based on the location, maybe [1]? Eddie891 Talk Work 02:18, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for that, Eddie891. I think you're right. I sent an email to a library that looks like it has a copy of the issue in question, but didn't receive a response. I've now submitted an ILL request, so hopefully that will both prove you right, and get the article. --Usernameunique (talk) 05:53, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- How's this going? If you're having trouble with the ILL, I should be able to request an ILL for OCLC 225804755 pretty easily, as my university is within the Big Ten Academic Alliance, and so is one of the libraries that has it. If you received it but it's not the right magazine, if you send me the full newspaper article that prompted your search, I can try to figure out what else it might be. Solomon Ucko (talk) 06:24, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, Sollyucko. Would you mind giving it a go? My library claims that the ILL was unsuccessful; I could try submitting it again, but perhaps you would have better luck if a copy is already within your system. --Usernameunique (talk) 20:19, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- Actually, it looks like University of Minnesota, Twin Cities doesn't have that issue, but it looks like the following libraries have it:
- Two of these are academic libraries in the US, so I think there's a decent chance of success. My university's ILL department is a bit busy currently, but I'll submit it in a few days and see what happens. If you contact me via Special:EmailUser, I'll send you the scan I receive, if it's successful.
- Solomon Ucko (talk) 21:16, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- I've submitted an ILL request myself. It might be more complicated than I originally thought, but hopefully they can figure it out without too much difficulty... I'm just confused how issue and volume numbers correspond with months and years... Solomon Ucko (talk) 13:58, 5 February 2024 (UTC)

Citations from old Art and living magazines[edit]
Hello. I'm trying to determine whether there are enough sources to save Richard Whitney (artist). At present the article has no citations at all, but it does quote from Town & Country (magazine) and Fine Art Connoisseur, though without detailed citations. The subject has provided me with more useful citations, but I can't find those articles online (I can find the issue of Fine Art Connoiseur in archive.com, but not the article). I can't see a resource in WP:LIBRARY that looks promising. I've put all the information I have in the citations: I realise it's incomplete, and I will be asking the subject for more info (see WP:HD#Author request deletions on my Gallery at Richard Whitney (artist)). Anybody got access to either of these?
- Compton, Kelly (November–December 2007). "The Human Touch". Fine Art Connoisseur. p. 56.
- Loos, Ted (August 2001). "Looking Your Best". Town & Coountry. pp. 45–48.
Thanks, ColinFine (talk) 19:36, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- @ColinFine: Email me if you want a copy of #2. All it contains about Whitney is: "Of the artists who do paint portraits frequently, there is wide agreement that the most talented include those listed below ... [in list of 12:]* Richard Whitney, Stoddard, NH". --Worldbruce (talk) 20:15, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you, that's really helpful. A useful source in fleshing out an article but not really WP:Significant coverage. ColinFine (talk) 18:10, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- For #1, I've put in a request for an interlibrary loan for the article in OCLC 62778816; I'll let you know when I get any major updates on its status. If you contact me via Special:EmailUser, I'll email you it if and when I receive it. Solomon Ucko (talk) 06:37, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
- I have received a scan of the "The Fine Touch", but the only mention I see of Whitney is in a similar list: "As tempting as it is to highlight them, this highly selective survey bypasses the giants of the field whose work is so familiar to most readers: Among them are [...], and Richard Whitney. Having weathered the relatively lean years of the 1950s-80s, these huge talents have attained varying degrees of celebrity, inspired several generations of younger artists, and found their rightful places in museum collections. Several have been profiled in this magazine already, and others are scheduled for the months ahead." (p. 56) Solomon Ucko (talk) 17:09, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

Looking for articles about "École allemande Humboldt" in newspapers in Quebec[edit]
For Alexander von Humboldt German International School Montreal
Hello! I'm trying to find any historical newspaper articles that give in-depth coverage to the school (known as "École internationale allemande Alexander von Humboldt" in French) in Montreal. This is for a relevant articles for deletion on FRwiki. I noticed Montreal Gazette had archives on Newspapers.com but I havent found other archives of English newspapers.
Thanks, WhisperToMe (talk) 13:29, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- WhisperToMe, have you tried searching the Bibliothèque et Archives Nationales du Québec (BanQ)? They have pretty extensive archives over there. Szmenderowiecki (talk) 15:48, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Not yet. Lemme see what I can find there today. Thank you for the tip! WhisperToMe (talk) 15:51, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- From my first search result I found a good primary source: an international agreement on the operations of the school. It's not the secondary sources that I had looked for, but it's compelling and would be a good further reading entry. WhisperToMe (talk) 19:57, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- WhisperToMe, what's the progress on this request? Szmenderowiecki (talk) 15:02, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

- @Szmenderowiecki: The good news is that the FRwiki article survived its AFD due to other sources I found in English (and one in French). It's no longer critical to find these, though it may still be nice if a French speaking Wikipedian knew of additional resources and stumbled upon this request. WhisperToMe (talk) 20:16, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Well I speak some French but I'm not based in Quebec so that's about everything I can offer.
- You may try to look into archives of some Montreal newspapers, look here for possible candidates. Szmenderowiecki (talk) 13:12, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

For User:Szmenderowiecki/sandbox/Touquet, particularly WWII and post-war reconstruction - will be thrown directly into Le Touquet article
The first article is available through OpenEdition, but The Wikipedia Library access to it is broken, hence my request. The second and third books are very likely offline, and I don't have relevant pages, so I'd appreciate someone with ILL (buying ILL vouchers). Obviously I cannot and will not request everything, but I need some info about what was happening, how many Germans were living in that city, what they were doing there, what did they do with the women, elderly and children who remained in the resort, preparations for the Atlantic Wall as relevant to the city and the reason why Le Touquet was so densely mined even though it had little intrinsic military value. Any relevant excerpts that will reflect on this issue will be welcome. I want to make a text that's max 2 paragraphs, beginning from the internment order of enemy males under 60.

Bird name synonym[edit]
- Moreau, R.E. "The ploceine weavers of the Indian Ocean islands". Journal für Ornithologie. Retrieved 25 November 2023.
For Aldabra fody, as I am doing a major expansion of the article and I cannot figure out who the first author to use the synonym Foudia eminentissima aldabrana was; I think it was most probably Moreau, but I need confirmation (strangely, no taxonomic database I have visited has mentioned this name, but it is brought up by the IUCN and others without making it clear who used it first). If not here, Birds of the World, which I also cannot access, may have some information.

- Thanks, Bruce1ee, unsure why I couldn't find it there. Sadly, it does not use the name F. e. aldabrana, but it does state that the bird is most likely conspecific with a different fody. Unsure where to go from here. Anonymous 18:06, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- It is Ridgway as given on the article. Added a ref there for the original description. Its placement as a subspecies of eminentissima does not change the taxonomic authority. Shyamal (talk) 07:56, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- @User:Shyamal, but Ridgway described it as a full species. It was then described by later authors as a subspecies (now considered a species again), but I can't figure out who first did this. Anonymous 18:06, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- @An anonymous username, not my real name, I just looked at the birds of the world entry, and it doesn't seem like it says anything about this, but I'm not sure how to interpret some of the abbreviations. I can send you a copy if you would like. Eddie891 Talk Work 15:25, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
- In the article you linked, I don't see a mention of "eminentissima", but Figure 2 on p. 34 is captioned "Foudia beaks"; #7 is "aldabrana (Aldabra)". It cites https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/partpdf/52121 from 1894, which refers to "Foudia aldabrana".
- Searching my university's EBSCOhost subscription, I found citations to Frith, C. B. (1976). "A twelve-month study of the Aldabran Fody Foudia eminentissima aldabrana". Ibis. 118: 155–178. in:

- That cited article is in the Wikipedia Library: https://onlinelibrary-wiley-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/doi/epdf/10.1111/j.1474-919X.1976.tb03064.x. The oldest citation I see in there is to the article you asked for. Benson 1963 doesn't seem to mention this species, but Benson 1967 does, searched with the help of HathiTrust: it describes the species starting on p. 87; on pp. 102-103, it says that it's a subspecies; and there are some additional matches.

IEEE paper on control data encoded in audio streams[edit]
- "ST 337:2008 - SMPTE Standard - Format for Non-PCM Audio and Data in an AES3 Serial Digital Audio Interface". IEEE Xplore. 23 January 2008. doi:10.5594/SMPTE.ST337.2008.
I'm working on a project to improve Wikipedia with information about film technology, including accessibility features in film, special film technologies such as motion control and 4D film, and the preservation of the associated technical data along with the film. Some of this data is encoded inside the film's audio stream and then processed by an external decoder. This is a very specialized process for which I've had a hard time finding reliable, technical sources.
For Digital Cinema Package (and other related articles), I need additional technical sources regarding the packaging of external control data inside digital audio streams. Other examples of the work I've done so far on these topics include the D-Box & Accessibility sections of the DCP article, as well as D-Box Technologies#Movie theatres, Accessibility#Hearing impairment, Hearing loss#Management, Sign language#Technology, Brazilian Sign Language#In film, Sign-language media, Movie theater#Accessibility, and Audio description#Operation.
I have an IEEE source I've been using for these article already which is open access (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9161348), however I need an additional IEEE source which is not. I have tried several online resources, including through my local library & EBSCOhost, and I have not been able to find access for this publication. I had access to HighBeam previously, however that program was shut down. Is this paper available to Wikipedians through a library or research partner?
Thank you! —danhash (talk) 18:51, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- If you're willing to use the service, this paper is available on Sci-Hub... BhamBoi (talk) 07:32, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- @BhamBoi: only the abstract is on Sci-Hub —danhash (talk) 17:19, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
- @BhamBoi: I did a little more digging and checked multiple different places online, even through online library sources, and every one leads to a PDF that is ~15 pages long but almost completely blank, with only the first page having any text, which is just an abstract and a link to the document on the IEEE website. These standards must be available somewhere? —danhash (talk) 14:17, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

For The Wonderful Sea-Horse (Iranian folktale), which was a tale provided by Masdi Galin Hanom. I already have a translated version printed in 1950 - which I will be going over -, but the German book contains the German translation (which I suppose is a more faithful translation of her tale) and notes by Ulrich Marzolph. Tale nr. 2 is another Iranian variant of tale type 314, but a summary cannot identify which is which.

(I found a way to see a list of all my cancelled requests, and there thankfully aren't any others.)
- The only library listed on WorldCat for it (https://search.worldcat.org/title/1014571845) is the "Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences". I guess they don't do ILL for universities in the US?

Varieties and usage of kimchi[edit]
- 손, 경희 (1991). "김치의 종류와 이용". 한국식생활문화학회지 (in Korean). 6 (4): 503–520.
For Kimchi. I've been looking for ages for this paper. The journal's online archives do not have this paper (page numbers for volume 6 only go up to 464). The journal does have an ISSN (1225-7060), but they've only had that since 2014. They have no doi for papers this old. I've checked koreascience.kr and DBpia to no avail.
Here are Google Scholar links to citations to this paper: "Variety and use of kimchi" (cited by 6), "Classification of kimchi and its use" (cited by 5), "Kinds and usage of Kimchi" (cited by 5), "The sorts and use of kimchi" (cited by 4), and "김치의 종류와 이용" (the original Korean name of the paper, cited by 26).
The best chance I think is if someone has access to the physical edition of volume 6 of 한국식생활문화학회지 (Journal of the Korean Society of Food Culture) and is able to find this paper and scan it.

Need a microfilm from St Pancras, London (British Library)[edit]
I need a London resident willing to go to the British Library at St Pancras and scan the microfilm of a 1965 Evening Standard article.
(The article is not available on Newspapers.com; see my previous WP:RX request here [2].)
Relevant details:
- Evening Standard
- Title appears to be: "IT'S THE GHOST OF LILLIE LANGTRY - AS QUEER THINGS HAPPEN IN HER OLD HOME".
- Date of the article is April 2, 1965.
- One exact quote I've seen attributed several times to it is "Langtry's ghost appeared one day".
I need a copy of the article in full (it has been excerpted in at least one book and a few news articles), which is why I need the microfilm. I also need the page number.
Article being improved: Lillie Langtry

- The container is edited by Konstantin Nikolaevič Negadaev-Nikonov or I. Ya Yatsko
- The place is Shtiintsa, Kishinev/Kishiner
- The article is in Russian
- Another spelling for the article title is "A new species of ridge-toothed mastodon from the Pliocene of south-western USSR"
- Additional spellings for the container include:
- Quaternary and Neogene Faunas and Flora of the Moldavian SSR

Article from Queensland Garden, August 1975 issue[edit]
Would greatly appreciate a PDF copy of this article from the August 1975 issue of the periodical Queensland Garden: Srivastava GS (1975) [Title: Not known. Concerns the plant species Erythrina resupinata]. Queensland Garden, August 1975, Vol 13, pages 10-11.
Copies appear to be available in the National Library of Australia and two other Australian libraries.
Thanks, Shankar Raman (talk) 07:43, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- Shankar Raman, have you tried asking folks over at WikiProject Queensland? By random chance alone there isn't much chance anyone's going to be from Brisbane, but it's much higher there and maybe they could go to the state library or, if they are outside Brisbane but still in Queensland, do an ILL, which is free for Queensland libraries.
- Not a very active WikiProject but it could help.
- Newspaper Archives do not cover that article, Newspapers by Ancestry do not cover Queensland at all. Szmenderowiecki (talk) 12:29, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion--will look it up. Shankar Raman (talk) 05:21, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
- FWIW, a couple of Google Books results ([12], [13]) indicate that the title of the article might simply be "Erythrina resupinata", but I'm not sure.
- I could try requesting an interlibrary loan through my US library in March, when they don't have as much to do, since this might be difficult for them; let me know at some point if you'd like me to attempt that then. I'd encourage you to first try asking WikiProject Queensland, as Szmenderowiecki said, or perhaps better WikiProject Australian biota, such as by putting a message on the WikiProject's talk page.

Access to translations of Iranian tales of "Animal as Bridegroom" tale type[edit]
ISBN 9788493756932. OCLC 868814669.

In this case, I suspect the tale is an Iranian variant, since Mirza and Bibi are the names of the characters in other Iranian-language variants. Anna Rozenfeld was a Tajik Iranist, and in the "Preface" she might have indicated the source for the tale.

The footnotes from the book I have added to the article in question are guesswork because I do not know the exact page numbers and would like a stable copy for verification and ease.
The rest are reviews of the album taken from either the review score sidebar already in the article or the album's entry on Metacritic. I have applied on the Wikipedia Library to access Rock's Backpages, but there's no guarantee I will find them there.
Thanks, Lazman321 (talk) 22:20, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
I have added two additional sources for request: the media notes for both formats of the album: back cover, liner notes, additional artwork, etc. I seemingly cannot find them in full online and given the added artwork and unusual tracklist, at least according to sources, I doubt Discogs would be useful. I mostly need them to verify for myself the contents and the personnel behind the album. Lazman321 (talk) 05:19, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Nevermind, Discogs actually had images of what I was looking for, so ignore this. Lazman321 (talk) 21:05, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

Access to an English translation of a Thai book about "Suwannasang", another account of "Sang Thong"[edit]
- Phlāinō̜i, Sombat (1985). Mural Paintings. Office of the National Culture Commission, Ministry of Education. Summary first.
For Sang Thong. The book is about "mural paintings" and makes reference to the tale of "Suwannasang", another account of the tale of the "Conch Shell Prince", a Southeast Asian tale of Buddhist provenance. I'm asking for the summary first, since there are two tales about a queen giving birth to the shell prince, and I need to better locate the version (which appears to be ca. pp. 38ff), and to see the context of where the tale is depicted in murals.
Thanks, KHR FolkMyth (talk) 14:11, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
- According to HathiTrust, "Suwannasang" appears on pp. 38-42; Google Books shows snippets on pp. 38, 39, 41.
- According to HathiTrust, "Conch" appears on pp. 29, 38, 42; Google Books shows snippets on all three of those pages.
- Should I try requesting an interlibrary loan scan from OCLC 15488774, putting "[references to Suwannasang and conch]" as the chapter title, and "chapters w/ pp. 29, 38-42" for the pages? If needed, I could try requesting the physical book to look through myself, but that tends to take forever to ship.

Material to confirm release date of "Gabriel Knight" video game[edit]
Hi, can anyone access this entire collection of archived press releases from Sierra? If not, could you retrieve the specific press release found in this newspaper article titled (preferably dated) "Supernatural software debuts" somewhere online? I need it to find the exact release date for The Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery.
Thanks, Venky64 (talk) 00:41, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Venky64:, here is a search query on Archive.org with the game title and some publications. Period of release seems to be late-1995, early-1996, judging by the dates of magazines with either a review or a preview. KHR FolkMyth (talk) 03:36, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
- The newspaper you linked to is dated 25 December 1995, and says "just announced the release to retailers". https://search.worldcat.org/title/38344600 and https://search.worldcat.org/title/34269048 just say 1995. It looks like the first link you provided has some extra gunk on the end; this one should work: https://archives.museumofplay.org/repositories/3/archival_objects/9118. - HathiTrust says that the front matter and pp. 10, 11, 12, 13, 83, 85 mention "Griffith". I'm happy to request a scan of the front matter and pp. 9-14, 82-86 via interlibrary loan if you'd like, but I'm against requesting the whole introduction unless you can provide justification for it.
- Should I put in a request for "[references to George Griffith]" / "front matter & pp. 9-14, 82-86"?
- Solomon Ucko (talk) 20:10, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- That should work, I suppose. I don't know what the source says, only that other sources on Griffith make reference to it. TompaDompa (talk) 20:32, 10 February 2024 (UTC)
- Got it, makes sense. I've accordingly submitted a request for the pages I listed of OCLC 2436751. I already have your email address, so I'll send you the scan once I receive it. Solomon Ucko (talk) 17:05, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

- For "Volcanic Hazards on the Alaska Peninsula and in the Aleutian Islands", the abstract is publicly visible, but the author has passed away, so I think the best bet for getting anything beyond that would be to contact his colleagues, but I'm not sure how likely that is to succeed. Should I give it a try, though?
- For "The 1931 eruption of Aniakchak Volcano, Alaska", the abstract is likewise publicly visible. There's an email address for the first author listed in the abstract, and I found one for each author in https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0377027311002204. Should I try emailing them to ask them if they have anything they can send beyond the abstract? However, I did find Nicholson's very closely related M.S. Thesis publicly available here: https://scholarworks.alaska.edu/handle/11122/6306. Is that enough?

- Google Books has a preview and search results, but the search results don't have page numbers: https://www.google.com/books/edition/El_Ni%C3%B1o_histoire_et_g%C3%A9opolitique_d_une/oNLcEAAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&bsq=Huaynaputina, and this doesn't appear to be in HathiTrust: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/ls?q1=%22histoire+et+g%C3%A9opolitique+d%27une+bombe+climatique%22&field1=ocr&a=srchls&ft=ft&lmt=ft
- Here's what I've managed to extract, filtered down to what seems most relevant; the page number I put is just the first plausible number I see if I keep advancing forwards:

- It's available for free online: https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/loi/23249250/year/1997
- If you can't access it, let me know and I'll send you the articles.
- Solomon Ucko (talk) 06:11, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
- These titles do not seem to exist at that URL, and searching it doesn't find them either. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 14:48, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- I see, yeah, hmm...
- It looks like OCLC 2246774, 85447201 (apparently both list the same holdings) exists in print at my university, so I'll look for it. It does list v. 81 (2000), but it apparently skips v. 78 (1997), which all but one of them are in...
- I have access to GeoRef though my university's EBSCOhost, which indicates that these are part of the supplement, which I guess is less available... It also says that they're abstracts from the conference "American Geophysical Union 1997 fall meeting. San Francisco, CA, United States, Dec. 8-12, 1997", so I'll try requesting interlibrary loans from OCLC 31671675 if I can't find them in print here.

Greetings, has someone access to Er vulkanutbrudd årsaken til den senantikke lille istiden (536–660) og den lille istid (1250–1850)?? For 1257 Samalas eruption
Thanks, Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 17:30, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- The individual article and year-long subscription prices for Naturen seem pretty tame, so you could consider that. Alternatively, I can attempt to request an interlibrary loan, but I'm not sure how successful it'll be or how long it'll take, since I'm not sure how many institutions have access to current issues that they're able to share (typically corresponds with being in print). Solomon Ucko (talk) 16:33, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
- Seeing no reply for a week, I've put in a request for this in OCLC 1607905. Maybe someone can just send the digital version, which should take under 24 hours. Solomon Ucko (talk) 20:49, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

Thanks, Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 17:30, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- I don't seem to have access to the full text of this, but here are some options I see:
- You could request the full-text from the authors on ResearchGate; keeping the default message might result in them ignoring you; mentioning that you're researching the African humid period might help: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/370490917_Icacinaceae_Plant_Family_A_Recapitulation_of_the_Ethnobotanical_Phytochemical_Pharmacological_and_Biotechnological_Aspects
- I could try to request an interlibrary loan, but I'm not sure who has current issues in print, so I'm not sure how successful it'll be.
- You could purchase it online, but the price is quite a lot.

- Likewise this in OCLC 33146703. Solomon Ucko (talk) 20:51, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- I've received this, but the only mention of "humid" is in:

Forest-savannah dynamics on the Adamawa plateau (Central Cameroon) during the “African humid period” termination: A new high-resolution pollen record from Lake Tizong. - For the first one:
- OCLC 6593120 exists within the Big Ten Academic Alliance, so I can request pp. 155-163 of vol. 4 of it now if you'd like.
- In a couple of weeks, when demand for interlibrary loans is low, I can see if my university can get a scan of https://searcharchives.ucalgary.ca/entwicklung-und-zusammenbruch-der-strukturen-des-dauerfrostbodens.
- For the second one: OCLC 461784481 exists within the Big Ten Academic Alliance, so I've requested an interlibrary loan for p. 288.
- Solomon Ucko (talk) 17:03, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Jo-Jo Eumerus: For the first one, should I request a scan from OCLC 6593120? I can request https://searcharchives.ucalgary.ca/entwicklung-und-zusammenbruch-der-strukturen-des-dauerfrostbodens later if I receive that and it isn't enough. Solomon Ucko (talk) 20:55, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

Greetings, has someone access to Icelandic Volcanoes in Medieval Sagas, Chronicles, Annals and in Modern Scholarly Literature ? For Eldgjá
Thanks, Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 17:30, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- According to Google, 200 RUB is just 2.21 USD (and apparently https://ras.jes.su/history/s207987840027707-6-1-en has it for just half that), so I would be happy to even pay for it myself, but I don't feel comfortable putting my credit card information into a Russian website...
- I could attempt to request an interlibrary loan, but I'm having trouble finding a good WorldCat entry to reference... Searching for journals with ISSN 2079-8784, I see OCLC 1404284894, which is a digital and held solely by the Marshall Center Research Library in Germany, and OCLC 1404363057, which is also digital, and held by no-one, but links to Elsevier Scopus, which only has metadata, abstract, and references. I can give it a try if you'd like, in about a month when ILL demand is at its lowest.

Large-Scale Traps of the Great Basin[edit]
Greetings, has someone access to "Hockett, Bryan, and Eric Dillingham. Large-Scale Traps of the Great Basin. Texas A&M University Press, 2023."? For Neopluvial
Thanks, Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 17:30, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- Here's the text that seems to me (as a layperson) to be relevant, extracted by searching Google Books:
Between 3,500 and 4,000 years ago, Elko Series points replaced [(page break?)] Gatecliff and Humboldt points as the dominant projectile point style in many areas of the Great Basin. The eastern Sierra Nevada region also saw the production of a variety of Martis projectile point styles, including corner notched, side notched, and contracting stem, the latter of which has characteristic nods to the Gypsum point style more common in the southern reaches of the Great Basin (e.g., Elston 1971). This marks the Late Middle Archaic period. This period is associated with at least two different climatic phases. Between 2,800 and 3,800 years ago, the climate was cool and wet. Dubbed the Neoglacial or Neopluvial, these relatively cool and wet conditions fostered increases in marsh habitat, particularly in the western Great Basin (Rhode 2016). The largest aboriginal residential houses in Nevada were constructed at this time (e.g. McGuire et al. 2017). Sometime after 2,800 years ago, and particularly between about 2,000 and 2,750 years ago, the climate turned xeric. This climatic phase, known as the Late Holocene dry period or Late Holocene drought (Mensing et al. 2013), [...]

- Here's what I can see of relevance in Google Books search snippets and previews:
More recently, declassified U2 aerial photographs (1950s and 60s) have been applied to the Middle East, where they revealed features in Jordan, including desert kites that have since been destroyed (Hammer and Ur, 2019).

- It's also rather long, so I'm hesitant to request a scan of the whole thing... Should I try contacting the author via the email address listed in https://journals.openedition.org/quaternaire/3362, or via the form at http://seblamadon-photos.com/contact/?
- Alternatively, are these enough? If there are any that you can't access (check the Wikipedia Library if direct access doesn't work), let me know and I'll send you it.

- I can try requesting an interlibrary loan for OCLC 881631050 (no special relationship) and/or OCLC 35844852 (within Big Ten); let me know if I should.
- HathiTrust and Google Books agree that Huaynaputina does not appear in "Il paradiso del Magnifico Regno"; HathiTrust says that "Etna" appears on pp. 1, 106, 135, 137, whereas Google Books says pp. 19, 20, 83, and seven more locations.

Thanks, Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 17:30, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- For me, searching Google Books (Samalas, 1257) gives me snippets but not page numbers. It looks like the last snippet is of the index, which lists only page 214 for Samalas. I don't have the page numbers, so I don't think I can request a scan, but I could request the whole book. Alternatively, I found a website that has an EPUB of the full book, but its legality is questionable, so I'm not going to link to it directly, but it's not hard to find. Greetings, has someone access to "VanderHoek, Richard, and Rachel Myron. Cultural remains from a catastrophic landscape: an archaeological overview and assessment of Aniakchak National Monument and Preserve. United States Department of Interior, National Park Service, Aniakchak National Monument and Preserve, 2004."? For Mount Aniakchak
Thanks, Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 17:30, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- WorldCat says University of Maine Libraries have a copy of OCLC 971020134. Does anyone here have access to that, or should I attempt to request a scan of the whole thing via interlibrary loan? It's 258 pages, so I'm not sure if that's a good idea...
- Do you have specific pages you're interested in? I checked every Google Scholar citation (search 1, search 2) and every Google Search result for "Cultural Remains from a Catastrophic Landscape" "an Archaeological Overview and Assessment of Aniakchak National Monument and Preserve" and "AR/CRR-2004-47", and found:
- https://www.nps.gov/parkhistory/online_books/ania/hrs/chap2.htm cites p. 146 for the size of the explosion
- https://scholarworks.alaska.edu/bitstream/handle/11122/4909/Rains_uaf_0006N_10293.pdf?sequence=1 cites p. 39 for which locations were populated, p. 197 for "evidence for the Camp and Ugashik River phases being included in the Thule tradition" and "similarities between the Koniag tradition in Kodiak and the Alaska Peninsula", Figure 7-4 for "the geographic boundary zones of the flows" and other related statements, pp. 197-198 for "Two Alaska Peninsula sites, SUT-00024 and SUT-00027 are not defined by researchers as either Norton or Koniag but as a combination of Port Moller/Aleutian and Kachemak influences", pp. 3-10 for the investigation of the site, pp. 80-85 for the finding of non-local obsidian, and pp. 89-95 for comparison to "SUT-00024".
- https://www.google.com/books/edition/LIVING_UNDER_THE_SHADOW/2OJQbNBEYC4C?hl=en&gbpv=1&bsq=%22VanderHoek%20and%20Myron%22 cites p. 148 for a "productive, volcanically disturbed landscape"
- http://npshistory.com/publications/ania/tuugs.pdf cites pp. 144-145 for the usage of the "trail system traveling along Meshik River past Meshik lake"
- https://pubs.usgs.gov/pp/1810/downloads/pp1810.pdf cites "their figures 7, 8; Cabin Bluff section, ANI 99–K" for "a 45-cm-thick bed of relatively coarse silicic pumice ~40 km southeast of the caldera near Aniakchak Bay", "sample ANI 99–L" for "a comparatively thin tephra bed", "their table 8.1, appendix C, and p. 161–162" for the date Surprise Lake drained based on "wood from above pebbly sediment near the Aniakchak River mouth", and pp. 190-191 for "The suggested date for the flood falls within an ~200 yr gap in human habitation near the mouth of the Aniakchak River"
- http://npshistory.com/publications/ania/nrr-2015-1033.pdf cites figure 7.7 for a "photograph of the Cabin Bluff exposure in Aniakchak Bay showing post-glacial tephra stratigraphy"
- http://akssfapm.s3.amazonaws.com/APM_Uploads/2009/44520/.pdf/tp390.pdf isn't properly searchable, and it's 260 pages, so I'm not going through all of that manually.

- Unione donne italiane (1994). "Amelia Barbiere?". Noi donne (in Italian). Rome: Cooperativa Libera Stampa: 31-?. ISSN 0029-0920.
- "In cammino". Mondo e missione (in Italian). Milan: Pontificio istituto missioni estere. 132 (1–6): 90, 135–137. 2003. ISSN 0026-6094.
For Amelia Barbiere. Both journals say that they have been digitized by Hathitrust, but checking there, I find no open access journals. Noi donne listing at Hathitrust does not show 1994 and a general search of Hathitrust shows no listings for either "Casa san Giuseppe, Muhura" the orphanage Barbiere founded in Rwanda, nor her name. The search for Mondo e missione on Hathitrust shows nothing for Barbiere, but shows the article about the mission is on pages 90 and 135-137. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- For #1, it looks like Stanford has issues from 1994 (https://searchworks.stanford.edu/view/2758622), so I'll try to request an interlibrary loan for the article.
- Searching HathiTrust for Barbieri (ending in "i" instead of "e") for #2 gives me #134–136, #194, #481. I'm not sure if those are exactly page numbers, though... Solomon Ucko (talk) 16:32, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
- Sollyucko I appreciate you and your help so much. And thanks for catching the spelling error. Seems likely that whatever the name of the article is in the 2nd source it starts on page 134 and goes to 137. The other pages are probably the table of content and the indices entries, but I'm obviously not sure. From what I could see in the google search that In cammino appears at the top of the page, but is likely not the article title. Can we try for those pages? SusunW (talk) 20:20, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- My library's ILL website is currently not working, but I think I've put in a request for #1 already, and I'll try putting in a request for #2 once it's back up. I'll add a note to clarify what the numbers mean in case they aren't page numbers or they're split across multiple issues or whatnot. Solomon Ucko (talk) 20:52, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

- Sollyucko Have we made any progress on this request? SusunW (talk) 19:04, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- I think the set of libraries that have the correct issue of each is limited, and judging from the processing history, those that do might be less convenient to borrow from. I think they're working on them, though; the last log entry for each was 4 days ago, and it seems they sent a request and are waiting for a response. If this goes on for too long, I might try to contact them to figure out what's going on and see if I can help somehow. Solomon Ucko (talk) 19:46, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

- My library's ILL website is currently not working, but I think I've put in a request for #1 already, and I'll try putting in a request for #2 once it's back up. I'll add a page of context on each side to minimize the chance of receiving sentence fragments and the like, so pp. 89-91, 133-138, 193-195, 480-482. I'll add a note to clarify what the numbers mean in case they aren't page numbers or they're split across multiple issues or whatnot. Solomon Ucko (talk) 20:52, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
True Tales of Kansas: Dane Hansen[edit]
- Ringer, Roger (2021). True Tales of Kansas. History Press. pp. 77–79. ISBN 9781467146845 – via Google Books.
I'd love to use this (pretty recent) source for my newly created article, Dane Hansen, and while I can access pages 78–79 through the preview on Google Books, it appears there's some more about Hansen on page 77, which isn't included in the preview. If anyone happens to have access to this page, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks in advance! Bsoyka (t • c • g) 02:54, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
- My university's ILL department is pretty busy currently, but I can request an interlibrary loan for a scan of pp. 76-77 in about a week; I'm including p. 76 since it seems like it could also be useful and it shouldn't cost my university any extra. If you'd like me to do that, contact me via Special:EmailUser and I'll submit the request when I can and send you the scan when I receive it. Solomon Ucko (talk) 19:02, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi, does anyone have access to Taking AIM: Asian Management Strategies by the Asian Institute of Management? For Draft:Robert Kuan and Chowking
Thanks, — VORTEX3427 (Talk!) 05:22, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
- I don't have access to the book myself, but it's in the Big Ten Academic Alliance, so if I request an inter-library loan for specific pages, I should get a scan in a couple of business days. According to HathiTrust, Chowking appears on pp. 87, 226, 231-233, and Kuan appears on the front cover, pp. 3, 6, 226, and the back cover. I'm also adding a page on each side for context, and merging nearby page ranges.
- Should I request a scan of pp. 1-7, 86-88, 225-234 and the covers?

- Hi, this is available through OAPEN, link. fiveby(zero) 11:50, 13 February 2024 (UTC)

- You want "Review of the Central and South Atlantic Shelf and Deep-Sea Benthos", which is available. fiveby(zero) 21:27, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- That does not seem to provide a full copy. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 14:48, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- It's partly open-access here: https://www.taylorfrancis.com/books/edit/10.1201/9781003363873/oceanography-marine-biology-hawkins-russell-todd
- Google Books shows 5 matches for "Cadamosto" but unfortunately doesn't say where: https://books.google.com/books?id=3a_QEAAAQBAJ&newbks=0&printsec=frontcover&pg=PA1966#v=onepage&q=Cadamosto%20&f=false, and HathiTrust doesn't seem to have this.
- If you have reason to believe that the non-open-access chapters contain useful content, let me know and I'll look for them some more, then request an ILL if I can't find them.

For Lena Townsend, the article is completely unsourced and she needs demonstration of notability (ongoing AFD)

For Radoslav Holúbek, to help demonstrate notability. It is known that he is mentioned somewhere in the book, although the depth is uncertain.

Jennifer Lynne Michael: The Ring of Voices[edit]
I'm interested in Jennifer Lynne Michael: The ring of voices. Rounds from Anglo-American tradition. Dissertation. Thesis (M.A. in Folklore)--University of California, Berkeley, Dec. 1988. As far as I can see, this book is only available in some U.S. libraries: Berkeley ([29]), Mississippi ([30]). However, GoogleBooks has it ([31]) and HathiTrust has it ([32]).
I am interested in the whole book if possible, but especially in everything concerning the song (catch, round): Hey ho, nobody home and its variations: "Hejo, spann den Wagen an" (German) as well as "Nose, nose, nose, nose" resp. "Rose, rose, rose, rose" and "Ah poor bird".
The request is for the German article de:Hejo, spann den Wagen an but could also be useful for an English article about "Hey ho, nobody home".

- Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be on ProQuest. Based on Google Books and HathiTrust searches for all of those titles, it looks like the relevant pages are: iv, 6, 31, 71-74, 238, 243, 248, 252, 255, 258, 262, 302, 346. If no-one else can do it for a few days, ping me and I'll try to request a scan via interlibrary loan of pp. "iv,6,31,70-75,237-263,302,346" (there seems to be a 30-character limit).
- Solomon Ucko (talk) 22:19, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- I'll try to poke a little with the search results, maybe I can provide a promising selection.Mautpreller (talk) 11:59, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

Steamboat Arabia[edit]
These have been cited on Arabia (steamboat) because they were cited by the Arabia museum staff in the museum's own exhibit history prose. This is all I know. I can't find them on WP:LIBRARY's free subscription to newspapers.com and newspaperarchive.com. If you brilliant angels can't find them, I'll go ask the museum staff for a photo!
Thanks, — Smuckola(talk) 21:23, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- I don't seem to have online or physical access to those specific dates of those newspapers through any source I can think of... I can try to request an interlibrary loan through my university or my public libraries, but especially without a specific page number to request a scan of, this might be difficult, so asking museum staff first might be a better bet.
- FWIW, I found this related Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/arabia.steamboat.museum/photos/a.10150367946311279/10158849337656279/?type=3
